Stephen Greaves

Director, Invest Barbados

Stephen Greaves is the founder and President of Platinum International Business Solutions, Inc. [Platinum], an indigenous firm of corporate managers that provides business services to Barbados subsidiaries of foreign-owned corporations, high net worth individuals and family offices.

Prior to the formation of Platinum, Stephen managed the international interests of a private Canadian-owned Venture Capital Fund established in Barbados in 1992.

Stephen has been involved in the International Business and Financial Services sector since 1993 and is currently a director of Invest Barbados and a former member of the Barbados’ Economic Substance Committee formed in 2018 to respond to the OECD’s BEPS initiative.

He serves as director of several international business companies in various industries including oil and gas, financing and medical devices. Additionally, he sits on the executive committees of various local non-profit organizations.

Stephen is an active member of Barbados International Business Association (BIBA), the Barbados Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) in Barbados and a member of the Vancouver Board of Trade as well as the Canadian Tax Foundation.  Stephen’s articles have been published in Business Barbados and the “Edmontonians” and he has been interviewed on numerous occasions concerning various aspects of international business issues related to Barbados.  Stephen is an experienced and well respected professional in Barbados.  He continues to expand his knowledge by frequently attending private wealth management and Estate Planning conferences/webinars.

Stephen is a former Chairman of the Barbados Airline Transport Licensing Authority (ATLA), and a past director of BIBA and a former Council Member of BCCI.

In 2015, Stephen completed the Professionally Accredited Director’s designation (PAD) facilitated by GovStrat Limited.

Stephen holds an MBA from Concordia University, Montreal, Canada and a B.A., with a major in Economics from the University of Western Ontario, London, Ontario, Canada.

In his leisure time, Stephen is an avid tennis player and enjoys swimming, various sports and keeping abreast of the world affairs.
