Michael Ma is the principal of Xanadu Capital — a real estate focused international single family office vested in the commercial, residential, and development spheres. Xanadu Capital has sought to derive both intrinsic value and perpetuating revenue from its various businesses; these two aims constitute the family office’s long-term investment thesis. Xanadu Capital’s current portfolio balance consists of his core real estate holdings (including GP/LP partnership syndicate deals) which span the U.S. and provide essential geographic diversity to an asset-based bridge lending operation (Mountainside Lending) headquartered in Dallas, Texas, as well as ownership of a leading European window/door manufacturer (Testeral).

Education

Mr. Ma was born in Beijing, China and immigrated to the United States at an early age. After completing his secondary schooling at Darien High School in Darien, Connecticut, Mr. Ma went on to obtain a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee – where he was a member of the varsity football team – and a Master’s degree (A.M.) from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. He is a member of several professional associations, sits on the board of multiple organizations, and is proud to be a part of select honorary societies (ex. Mensa). On weekends, Michael enjoys mentoring underprivileged high school students in test prep and college admissions as part of The Achievement Fund, a 501(c)3 nonprofit he founded in 2017. And, as an avid outdoorsman, Mr. Ma also holds multiple world records in marksmanship and sportfishing.
