Claudia Romo Edelman

Founder, We Are All Human, CEO Sotol Romo

Claudia Romo Edelman is a global brand builder, social entrepreneur and cultural strategist whose career spans international diplomacy, media, philanthropy, and entrepreneurship. She has spent decades at the intersection of narrative, identity, and power—shaping how institutions communicate, how communities are seen, and how leadership is defined.

Claudia began her career representing the Government of Mexico at the Mexican Embassy in Switzerland before moving into journalism at media outlets, including Notimex, Proceso, and Monitor Radio. She then combined her diplomatic and journalism skills to lead PR and media for the World Economic Forum. After that, Claudia joined the United Nations system, where she led communications, marketing, and global advocacy efforts for the United Nations, UNICEF, UNHCR, and the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. She played a key role in launching the Sustainable Development Goals and helped launch global movements such as (Product) RED. Her work mobilized governments, corporations, celebrities, and civil society around urgent global causes to produce real outcomes.

After more than two decades inside major institutions, Claudia founded We Are All Human, a nonprofit based in New York, dedicated to elevating the narrative of Latinos in the United States. Through its flagship platform, The Hispanic Star, she has built partnerships with more than 350 corporations, as well as non-profit and community organizations and public sector entities. Hispanic Star is helping reframe the Latino narrative, often filled with misperceptions and misconceptions, to the data-supported reality that Latinos are an economic force and cultural driver that is shaping the future of America. Her work integrates corporate strategy, data, culture, and storytelling and, once again, mobilizes leaders across sectors to change perception at scale.

Claudia is also a passionate advocate for cultural diplomacy and the arts. A collector of Latin American art, she serves as a board director of the American Latino Museum and the National Museum of Mexican Art in Chicago. She has worked with major institutions including the Art Institute of Chicago and the Parrish Museum in New York to feature Latino art and history.

Most recently, Claudia stepped into entrepreneurship as the Founder and CEO of Sotol Romo, an ultra-premium Mexican spirits brand rooted in her family heritage in Chihuahua. Made from the wild Dasylirion plant of Northern Mexico, Sotol Romo reflects her ambition to do for the North of Mexico what tequila did for the South—elevating a region, creating economic opportunity, and building long-term value through ownership, storytelling, and global brand strategy.

Claudia has received numerous awards for her advocacy and leadership. Her work has been recognized by Time Magazine (Top 17 Hispanics, 2024), People Magazine (25 Most Powerful Women, 2020 and 2025), Latino Leaders (Top 100 Latino Leaders), and Bloomberg Women Who Lead Davos (2026). She is the author of more than a dozen books, including an award-winning children’s series of biographies of Latino heroes published with Macmillan.

Claudia is a public speaker and a frequent media contributor, with a social media following of more than a quarter million people. Her audience, largely professionals and leaders at different stages of their careers, are inspired by her unwavering belief that “better is possible.” It is borne out by the results she has driven through every chapter of her career. She has shown that better is possible when you shape a powerful narrative, take ownership of it, and create the support systems and networks that open doors and change lives.

Claudia speaks six languages and lives in New York City with her husband, Richard Edelman, and their children, Joshua and Tamara. She enjoys travel, sports, and time with her family.
