Al Eskanazy served in the United States Army Reserves for five years, retiring as a Sergeant E-5 in 1974.
Al embarked on a remarkable 45+ year journey as an insurance entrepreneur, leaving an indelible mark in the industry. As the Principal and co-CEO of Morstan General Agency, Inc., a national wholesale insurance intermediary, he steered the company to an annual sales base of nearly $400 million. With offices across multiple states, Morstan’s headquarters in Long Island, New York, stood as one of the largest privately held employers, a testament to Al’s leadership and business acumen.

Synergistic to Morstan’s needs and that of other insurance operations, Al founded Single Entry Systems, a tech firm with patents that specialized in streamlining insurance workflows. In 2016, Al led the sale of Morstan General Agency to Brown & Brown (Hull & Co), a publicly traded firm. Al’s philanthropic journey is a testament to his compassion and commitment to making a difference. He was the founding president and chair of Ascent: A School for Individuals with Autism, a tuition-free charter school in New York State, established in 1998. This initiative, driven by Al’s vision, has provided countless individuals with autism the opportunity to thrive and succeed. Al has received countless accolades for his charitable work, including induction into the Long Island Volunteer Hall of Fame, being named Man of the Year by the Nassau County Police Department Explorers Program and the International Council of Women in Law Enforcement, Citizen of the Year by the South Florida Police Benevolent Association, Law Enforcement Guardian Philanthropist by the National Latino Police Officers Association, and receiving the Citizens Involvement of the Year award from Citizens’ Crime Watch of Miami-Dade County. In 2024, Al was anointed with a Doctorate of Humanities by the God Ministries Alliance and Seminary.

Upon his retirement from Morstan General Agency, Al demonstrated his unwavering commitment to public safety by becoming a sworn Peace Officer of the Division of Criminal Justice Services of the state of New York. He is a reserve detective assigned to the Nassau County SPCA Criminal Abuse section. In January 2018, Al took a step further in his philanthropic mission, co-founding the Community-Police Relations Foundation (formerly known as the Greater Miami-Miami Beach Police Foundation and New York’s Elite Police Foundation), for which he is the current President and Chief Executive Officer. These 501(c)(3) organizations work to improve relationships between law enforcement and the communities they serve through various outreach initiatives. They support community and law enforcement alike in times of fraternity and distress. Al and his wife, Elaine Del Valle, reside in Miami Beach, Florida. They have three children and five grandchildren.
